The Origin
Our main division, VIP Communications, was founded in 1993 by Simon Carrillo (owner and CEO) and Rafael Carrillo (General Manager ) and their executive team. With acquisitions and mergers, VIP Communication grew aggressively in the local wireless telecom market. The group of dealers, under VIP Communications’ management, had prime locations, retail division, wholesale division, repair centers and strategic alliances with the top players in the industry
SunCom
In 1999, we started selling SunCom products. The company was later obtained by T-Mobile. An indirect Channel Director approved and led small dealers to our company. Our responsibility was to help and guide the 52 point of sales into bigger accounts.
In 2004 we started to sell Sprint products as a Platinum Dealer. This authorized us sub dealers in Puerto Rico and retail stores in 5 different Florida malls.
Sprint
From 2003 to 2006 Commplus (part of our group) was the Top Seller Dealer in Puerto Rico for Sprint. On 2004 we were selected as the second dealer with the most outstanding activation levels and logistics management in the Nation (including the US Mainland). Late on 2004 Sprint granted us the permission to open in the Miami market with 5 stores in the top shopping malls like the Dolphin Mall, Sawgrass Mall, Dadeland Mall and others.
Repairs - Dr. Cell
DR. CELL was a repair center located in the heart of metropolitan area in San Juan, Puerto Rico. DR. CELL provided service and reparation for almost any phone in the market. In order to maintain and grow the T- Mobile SIMS activations, Dr. CELL provides “carrier unlocks” and other services to the sub-dealers.
